Meet the Dentists
Peter Silver, DDS
Dr. Peter Silver enrolled at the New York University College of Dentistry after studying Biology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Although he graduated in 1985 and opened his own practice, he continues to refine his expertise by following the latest advances in dentistry.
Dr. Silver has studied at the Dawson Center, Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, PAC-Live, and the Texas Institute of Advanced Dental Science. He also studied with prominent professionals, such as Larry Rosenthal. He’s a member of genR8TNEXT, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He also earned the Fellowship Award from the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Silver is a trumpet player and long time member of Musicians Union Local 802. He has led a brass quintet for over twenty-five years and a seventeen piece big band for over twenty years. He performs numerous gigs around town and you can hear selections of his music on this website. He was recently featured on NPR as the Jazz Dentist of New York.

An avid trumpet player with deeply-rooted seeds in local and international jazz scenes, Dr. Silver is known as “the Jazz Dentist of New York,” and he has been providing high-quality dentistry with an artistic touch for over 30 years. No other dentist in Manhattan has as much experience with ozone therapy and minimally-invasive dental techniques, and you can expect Dr. Silver to always deliver comprehensive care that is effective and comfortable.
